Below are some Babynurse interviewing questions I hope will help you with finding a babynurse or finding a babynurse position.

ENTERTAINING THE BABY
Do you read to the baby?
Do you talk to the baby?
Do you sing to the baby?
Do you hold the baby?
Do you believe in letting the baby cry? If so, for
how long?
Basinet Vs the Crib?
How old should the baby be before you start

An act to amend the labor law, the executive law and the workers' compensation law, in relation to establishing regulations regarding employment of domestic workers including hours of labor, wages and employment contracts

As of August 27th, 2010 This bill is waiting on Governor Patterson desk to sign.

Nanny interviewing tips, Finding a new Nanny, housekeeper or Householdstaffing Job

Below are some tips to help you in your search for a new job.   Most of this these tips are common sense ideas,  however, during the interview process you would be surprised how nerves and anticipation can alter a persons behavior.
Good Luck!

1.      Smile
2.      Do not complain about previous employers.  If you had issues with a former employer try to be diplomatic about explaining it in an interview.
3.      Do not initiate discussion about salary, vacation, and/or benefits during the first interview.  If the employer brings it up, answer questions honestly but do not bring it up yourself.
4.      Arrive at your interview 10 minutes early.  If you aren’t familiar with the area, get a map or directions and go to the house the day before to be sure you won’t get lost and be late on the interview day.
5.      Dress professionally.  No jeans, flip flops, or sweatshirts.  Wear nice pants or skirt and a blouse with nice shoes.  Be conservative in your attire: no tight shirts, or short skirts.  Minimal makeup.  Make sure your hair is clean and neatly styled.  No perfume.  No Chewing gum
6.      Think about how you present yourself and the things you will say.  Let them know that you are a hard worker and that you are good at what you do.  Don’t give a potential employer any reason to believe that you are lazy or looking for an easy job.
7.      Do not call the client except if you are lost on the way to the interview.  Do not call to follow up on the interview.  All client communication should be done through the agency unless the Client asks you to contact them directly.
8.      Do not bring other people (i.e. children, husband, friends, etc.) to the interview.
9.      Bring a copy of your resume, reference letters, and legal documentation (Social Security card, Green Card, Work Permit, Driver’s license) to the interview.
